As an avid hiker and all around outdoor enthusiast, I spend every free moment I have exploring our great outdoors. From my time as a Boy Scout, to joining hiking clubs, and even family vacations, my fondest memories have always revolved around being outdoors. My free time is very precious and if you're anything like me, I wanted every hiking trip to be as fun and adventure filled as possible. With that in mind, I would spend countless hours pouring over every ounce of information, researching new and interesting hiking trails throughout State Parks, National Parks, and Nature Preserves all across the country. One thing that always frustrated me was the lack of detailed information regarding what I might expect to experience along our hikes, without having to search through dozens of different websites or books.
And so Brook and Holler was born.
Our mission is to take as much of the legwork out of researching your next hiking trip as possible. We search out and hike the best hiking trails all across the country and compile all of our experiences into in depth guides to help you plan your next trip. In each guide, we provide:
- Detailed descriptions of where the trails are located. What you might see or experience along the way. Plus, tips on where hidden landmarks such as arches, waterfalls, or caves might be located in the near area that only locals are privy to.
- Photos. Photos. and tons of Photos. We bring back a huge library of pictures we take along the trail from scenic overlooks, wildlife we might encounter, and even snap a few of us, roughing it in the great outdoors.
- READY. SET. ACTION! If all of that wasn't enough, we record all of our hikes in order to create a reel of highlights from each trail so you can experience what we see FIRSTHAND!
Our public lands are constantly under threat. Despite overwhelming support, there is a long history of efforts to dismantle the public land system by transferring public lands out of American ownership to state or private interest. More so, each year millions of acres of forests disappear as they are logged, stripped mined, and burned. In order to help protect and preserve these places, we must fall in love with them by getting out and exploring them. As part of our commitment to conservation, we donate a portion of each sale from our store to help combat deforestation in some of the most fragile habitats across the country and the world at large. We love our wilderness areas and want to do our part to ensure their survival for future generations. So go on, do your part by getting out and Wander More!
