Linville Gorge Wilderness Table Rock Poster
With panoramic views of the central canyon, the Linville River valley 2,000 feet below, and even the Charlotte skyline some 90 miles away, its no wonder why the hike to summit Hawksbill Mountain is the most popular trail within the gorge. While the western rim of the canyon is known for its sheer drop into the Linville River valley below, the eastern rim along the Jonas Ridge is known for its striking peaks. Ginger Mountain, Sitting Bear, The Chimneys, Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain can all be seen and even recognized from various overlooks off the Blue Ridge Parkway from milepost 326 to 319. Pictured above is the Linville Gorge as seen from the summit of Hawksbille Mountain looking in the direction of Table Rock Mountain!
