Daniel Boone National Forest Markers Arch Poster
Markers Arch is a sandstone arch hidden in a solitary cove located just off a spur trail from the Yahoo Arch Trail within the Daniel Boone National Forest. This often overlooked formation sees so little visitation that the entire area surrounding it is engulfed in so much lush subtropical vegetation, it evokes a scene out from the jungles of Central America. The short 0.5 mile trail to Markers Arch follows a pine-oak ridge through clearings of rhododendrons and mountain laurel before descending into a small cove overlooking Yahoo Creek. Having two ways to reach it by either hiking the Yahoo Arch Trail from the scenic area or by a trailhead located on State Highway 700, there is no excuse to see this magnificent arch on any trip to Yahoo Falls.
