Rummaging Roadside Thrift Shops

Rummaging Roadside Thrift Shops

I have a confession to make, I LOVE ALL THINGS VINTAGE! Its a habit I picked up through all of my years traveling. Any town I would stop in surely had a thrift store, antiques shop, or vintage junk store that I was all to happy to stop in. It made budgeting for trips kind of a joke. If shirts had just the right kind of travel logo, soft feel, and the right shade of color, it was MINE. Retro looking dishes would double in my home as planters. The crown jewel of my treasure hunts would be vintage Leather Jackets. Ive spent a small fortune just driving to shops in hopes that they would have a sweet looking leather jacket in just the right shade of brown. Not too dark, not too orange-ish. When I stop to think about it, I probably should have saved some of that money or invested it. You live, you learn. As of recently Ive made an effort to be a bit more minimalist(ish) in my consumption of material goods. A lot of my collection has landed in the hands of friends and family or donated back to the shops I once rummaged through. One positive note is that it inspired me to create my own line of vintage souvenir inspired shirts here on Brook+Holler. I knew I would find a way to justify my excessive purchases! Here are a few pictures of the items that made the "Will Never Leave my Possession Box"! What’s your vice? Drop comment and let me know what YOU love to collect.

Enjoy!
