Aristotle once wrote, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” We all have those 3, 5, and 10 year plans for where we want to be in life. It can be a lot of fun to fantasize about all of our future accomplishments. That shiny new car we’re going to buy with that promotion we are all but destined to recieve. That six pack that you can almost see under the perfect lighting. At some point all of that fantasizing will have to turn into ACTION in order to make that future come to fruition. Write out your goals and put them somewhere clearly visible. Remind yourself everyday of what actions need to be taken. Develop better daily habits.

Don’t hit the snooze button tomorrow morning. Actually get up when the alarm goes off and go for that run. The guys are leaving work early to catch the game at the bar. Decide to stay and finish that project you’re working on. I get it, life is short so enjoy it. Heres the thing, those five extra minutes you slept in after one week turns into 35 minutes. Thats 30+ hours in a year. Think of all the things you “don’t have time for” and then all of the time you waste throughout your day. Stop making excuses and start putting in the work. Excellence is not an overnight thing. It is a muscle that must be built, one curl at a time!
